Hello everyone! You can find here some art and provided information about the upcoming Kickstarter, which began as “the Bestiary Crowdfunding” but has evolved into something more – we won’t waste the opportunity to deliver on some unique goodies that aren’t feasible outside of a crowdfunding content.
Since the direct was in Italian, Ema and us decided to provide a super quick summary for you here… because we’re really proud of all we have achieved, and also because now you can understand just how busy we have been and still are!
First, a date: the KS will take place in September. More information later. After the campaign ends and pledges are collected, we will begin sharing content and updates, including some WIP and digital files.
Secondly, some data: the Bestiary book will be more than 300 pages long, and include the new Quick Assembly method (roughly 50 pages), expanded information and advice on conflict and enemy design, and more than a hundred creature entries for GMs to use as a base and adapt for the group.
And now, some preview pictures – you’ll forgive the quality, as these were screenshots taken from the livestream directly.
Please read till the bottom… we’re pretty sure you won’t regret it ;)
As you can see from the above, we’re putting a lot of effort into this, and going beyond the expected: for instance, the Bestiary will also include sample Faithful Companion profiles with an explanation of their concept and potential.
But it doesn’t end there: thanks to the crowdfunding and the opportunities that come with it, we’ve been developing hardback and deluxe versions of the corebook + the three atlases (see below for the current WIP version of the deluxe covers) and various additional play tools, such as a deck of 100+ mini-sized item cards for people to randomly generate the selection of items in shops during more classic games of Fabula Ultima (and hey, even if you don’t use them that way, these are still more than a hundred unique new item designs each with a new Quality). Nonetheless, the Kickstarter will feature a Collector’s box – that we are putting our hearts into!
And now, a last, and definitely not least, bit of news. As some of you may know, when Fabula Ultima won Best Game of the Year during Lucca Comics & Games 2022. In that occasion, the award was handed to us directly by Yoshitaka Amano, of Final Fantasy fame and guest of the convention.
We are now extremely stoked to announce that Yoshitaka Amano will be illustrating a Kickstarter Exclusive variant cover for the Core Rulebook. More news will come as the Kickstarter launches.
Lastly, none of this would be possible without your support. So thank you. We hope this new step in the history of Fabula Ultima will be up to your expectations, but frankly, I believe it will: at the very least, I know we’re going above and beyond, putting hard work into it, and sparing no effort.
So once again, thank you. And stay tuned for more, following Need Games social media and/or subscribing to our newsletter!
